Here's what PIE told me. The bottom line is that if you have an
Ensoniq or Yamaha sound card, you're out of luck for a while. I can't
even return the d@#$ thing because my Electronics Boutique closed. I'll
wait a while for the patch but might lose patience and send it back to PIE
for a refund.

---------
Meat Puppet requires a DirectSound compatible sound card in order to play
the game. The Meat Puppet error "(music.cpp:57) :error . please insert
the Meat Puppet cd" is related to your sound card's DirectX
drivers. There are three courses of action in this case:

1) You could contact your sound card's hardware manufacturer for the
DirectSound certified drivers. Once you have installed DirectSound
certified drivers for your sound card, you will be able to play the game.
2) In the mean time, our programmer is trying to work around the
DirectX certification issue. He is working on a patch, and as soon as he
is done, we will post it on our web page.
3) A very nice, standard and stable sound card would be the Sound
Blaster AWE 32. This card is very well supported and is an industry
standard.

If you are pursuing the DirectSound certified drivers for your sound card,
please make sure your DirectX drivers are installed and certified. In
order to verify whether or not all your drivers are DirectX certified,
follow the instructions below:

1) Double-click on My Computer
2) Double-click on your Drive C
3) Double-click on Program Files
4) Double-click on DirectX
5) Double-click on Setup
6) Double-click on DxSetup.exe
7) A list appears, make sure all drivers are listed as certified

If any of these drivers are not certified, or listed as "no support," then
you are missing drivers for some of your hardware. Specifically, you will
be interested in "Audio Driver." If this is not certified, then you will
get the "(music.cpp:57)" error. You will need to determine what sound
card you have, and then acquire DirectSound drivers for it. If you do not
know what sound card you have, or if you are not certain, follow the
instructions below to determine what sound card you have.

1) Click on START
2) Select Settings
3) Select Control Panels
4) Double-click on System
5) Select Device Manger
6) Double-click on Sound, Video, and Game Controllers
7) Write down the sound card type

Once you have the sound card type, simply contact the manufacturer, and
get the DirectSound drivers from them, and you will be all set. If you
have an Ensoniq or Yamaha soundcard, when you will not be able to get
DirectSound certified drivers for some time. You can either wait for the
hardware manufacturer to get DirectSound certified, get our patch, or get
a DirectSound certified sound card like the Sound Blaster AWE 32.
